Physical therapy

Imagine the luxury of quality, one-on-one time with your physical therapist to talk about all your problems, get real answers, and have a crystal-clear plan to hit your goals. Imagine your physical therapy appointment being one of the things you look forward to most on your calendar.

This is what you’ll experience during your time at Empower Physio and Wellness. We will help you recover from injuries, overcome years or decades of pain, gain clarity on what your body needs, and be your go-to person for everything health and wellness related. 

Spoiler alert- our solutions do NOT include stopping the activities you love. We will guide you on how to hit the gas and brakes at the same time. We press the gas on all the activities and strategies to expedite healing, while temporarily pressing the brakes on the activities that aggravate your pain. Just stopping everything is NOT the answer. We want to keep you moving as much as possible. This allows you to confidently get back to all the activities you love ASAP.

Our evaluations are 90 mins to allow for an in-depth assessment, explanation of your individualized plan, and treatment on the first day. Follow up visits are 60 minutes and are customized to you and your goals.

Dry needling, cupping, & body work

We have all kinds of tools in our toolbox to reduce pain and muscle tension while getting you moving and feeling better. Dry needling is a super popular treatment here. For the people who aren’t a good fit for dry needling or hate needles, we love using cupping, cupping with movement, scraping, myofascial release, trigger point release, joint mobilizations, and more! You and your physical therapist will collaboratively discuss which techniques are best for you and your healing.

For established clients, 30 minute body work visits are available for quick tune ups. 

Headaches, neck pain, & TMJ pain

Physical therapy plays an important role in helping people with headaches, neck pain, and TMD (temporomandibular disorders, aka TMJ/jaw pain). Oftentimes, headaches, neck pain, and jaw problems all occur together, though not always. What research does show is that all people with TMD have some sort of problems in the neck as well that influence the jaw pain. Physical therapists are expertly trained to address all these parts of the body to maximize healing. 

Not only have our physical therapists undergone extra training to effectively diagnose and treat headaches, neck pain, and TMD, these are some of our favorite problems to treat! There are simple and effective strategies we implement to help you feel better than you thought you could.

Back pain & Sciatica

If you’re reading this, it is likely that you’ve experienced, or are currently experiencing back pain. Research shows that 75-80% of people will experience back pain at some point in their lives. 

This is why we love helping people with back pain! We have witnessed people overcome months, years, and decades of back pain- to each person’s amazement. Imaging results and family history are not your destiny; there is ALWAYS something you can do to get your back feeling and moving better.

A less commonly discussed factor with back pain, though one just as debilitating as the pain itself, is the fear of movement that comes with chronic back pain. We will help you work through this fear so that you can confidently get back to the activities you love. For life.

Strength training

The number one way to age well and maximize longevity is to have solid muscle strength. Being strong can solve so many of your problems and improve overall health. Research shows that strong people have a 25% less chance of dying prematurely of any cause. 

Especially for women in peri or post-menopause, strength training becomes even more crucial for promoting health, bone density, and muscle mass. It also reduces the risk of soft-tissue injuries that become more prevalent with the drop in estrogen. 

We will help you develop a customized strength training program, or optimize one that you already have. We also partner with FabYOUlous Fitness, a boutique training studio for women, to connect our female clients with an outstanding, one-of-a-kind fitness community. Our spaces are conveniently located under the same roof! Men- do not fret. We have great fitness resources for you as well!
