Frequently Asked Questions

In-network physical therapy is an insurance based system. In this setup, insurance companies have a direct relationship with clinics and providers. This direct relationship dictates the type of care that providers can offer, as well as the reimbursement provided. This puts up barriers to high-level care, such as providers being forced to see multiple patients at a time, short appointment times, reduced 1:1 attention, high levels of distraction, and the inability to treat multiple issues.
Out of network physical therapy clinics do not contract directly with insurance companies. This allows freedom to provide high-level care. In this model, providers can provide 1:1 care, longer appointment times, a high level of focus, and can tailor your treatments to your individualized needs and goals. There is also price transparency, so you won’t get stuck with a crazy high bill you weren’t expecting.

No, we do not contract with insurance companies. It is a decision we take seriously. We choose to be out-of-network because insurance companies have strict rules about treatment plans and the number of sessions clients can receive. Basically, the insurance company–rather than you and the therapist–determines your treatment plan, what services the therapist can provide, how much time it should take for you to improve, and the amount of progress you can make. The insurance company isn't particularly interested in your desire to reach your goals or fully participating in the activities you enjoy.
Helping you reach your goals is our number one priority! We would rather have a 1:1 relationship with YOU–not your insurance company–so that we can get to know the exact nature and cause of your pain and provide the most appropriate and individually tailored services that will actually make you feel better. We also want to provide you with tools to help you avoid future problems so you feel empowered for the long-term.
We know that it’s an investment, but it’s an investment in yourself and your well-being. You shouldn’t have to waste time, money, and energy with services that aren’t exactly what you need. Consider the opportunity cost of continuing to worry if you’ll ever feel better and spending more time NOT doing the things you love. Let’s get after it efficiently. We believe that patient and physical therapist driven care is the best way for us to help you reach your goals!
Upon request, we are happy to provide superbills, which is an itemized receipt with all the codes insurance companies need to process claims. You can submit this to your insurance company. Once processed, your insurance company will reimburse you directly for any benefits you receive. Some of our clients get nearly all of their investment reimbursed, others don’t; it all depends on your insurance plan. We recommend calling your insurance provider if you have questions about your plan benefits.

Here are the questions we recommend asking your insurance provider if you’d like to know more about your coverage:
Do I have a high-deductible plan?
Are my deductibles for in-network and out-of-network care the same or separate?
What is my coverage for out-of-network physical therapy?
How can I submit a claim for out-of-network care?
How much will it cost me to receive in-network physical therapy care? (Spoiler alert- they will NOT be able to answer this question.)

Our evaluations are 90 minutes and cost $275. This allows us to do a thorough evaluation, explain your recovery plan to you, and get started on treatment that first visit! We go into a lot of detail and our clients love this extended 1:1 time.
Follow up visits are 60 minutes and cost $200. We offer packages that include a discount. You and your physical therapist will discuss which package may be appropriate for you at your evaluation.
We offer 30 minute body work sessions for $125. These are available for current clients only who have completed a plan of care and are looking for quick body tune-ups.

Our clients pay for care at time of service with credit card, cash, Venmo, check, or HSA/FSA cards.

Prior to your first visit, you will receive a welcome video with introductory information as well as directions on how to access our office.
During your first visit, you and your physical therapist will first talk in detail about your symptoms, what makes them better and worse, the history of your pain or injury, lifestyle factors (including sleep, stress, nutrition, and exercise), and your goals.
After that, your physical therapist will do a movement assessment. She will check your strength, range of motion, how you move, and get a feel for the muscles and joints.
You’ll then sit down together to talk about what’s going on and develop your individualized plan to hit your goals.
Lastly, your physical therapist will get you started on treatment so you can start feeling better right away!

Please wear comfortable clothes you can easily move in. If you’re coming in for a lower body problem, please wear or bring shorts. Ladies, if you’re coming in for an upper body problem, please wear a sports bra or tank top so we can access your shoulders. We have comfortable changing areas available for you to use if needed.
Don’t worry about what shoes you’re wearing- we will have you take them off anyways!
-
If applicable, bring any mouth guards/oral appliances you’re using, running shoes that have a wear pattern, or anything else relevant to your current pain or injury.
-
Nope! We actually prefer to assess you first before looking at imaging results. If you’ve had imaging done, you can bring the report for us to review after your evaluation.
Note- Please have paper copies of your imaging report. We do not have a way to view images on CDs.
