Raise your hand if you have a friend that’s always trying the latest diet. She’s done everything from Atkins to Whole 30 to Keto in hopes of feeling energized, healthy and a few pounds lighter. While she always starts off with the best of intentions, she’s binging ice cream and chips one week later and feeling down on herself.
Whether this has happened to a friend, or you personally, I FEEL YOU. I see lots of busy women that just want to feel their best, but they struggle to stay consistent with their fitness and nutrition plan. And there’s a really good reason why they haven’t found success.
Understanding why so many women before you have failed can become the reason you succeed. Here are the top 3 mistakes I see and how you can turn them on their head:
1. People try to make big changes all at once For example, let’s say you want to lose 50lbs. Rather than trying to lose all that weight right away by depriving yourself and starting a rigorous new exercise regime, set small milestones. Maybe you focus on losing 1lb a week by cutting out one unhealthy food group per month and moving your body for 30 minutes a day.
2. They don’t have anyone to hold them accountable. This makes it easy to slack on the plan and fall off the bandwagon after a few days or weeks. If you know you’re checking in with someone (AKA someone else has skin in the game) you’ll be more likely to stick to the plan you’re supposed to be following because now you’re not only disappointing yourself, but you’re letting someone else down as well.
3. They scour Google and social media pages for advice on where to start but every person is unique and what works for someone else may not work for them. Put simply, just because something is on the internet doesn’t mean it’s correct. And just because something works for someone else, doesn’t mean it’ll work for you personally. By working with an expert, you can maximize your time and find what’s most effective for YOU!
